ISO 14130 Fibre-Reinforced Plastic Composites

Determination of Apparent Interlaminar Shear Strength by Short-Beam Method

ISO 14130 is a testing standard designed to measure the apparent interlaminar shear strength of fiber-reinforced plastic composites with a thermoset or

a thermoplastic matrix by the short-beam method.

The apparent interlaminar shear stress is the stress acting on the neutral plane of the specimen.

The apparent interlaminar shear strength is the value of the apparent interlaminar shear stress at failure or at the maximum force reached.

Interlaminar shear force is loaded on the rectangular specimen as a simple beam fixture in flexure.

Servohydraulic Test systems and Electromechanical Universal Test Machines  are ideal for performing accurate and repeatable monotonic testing of

fiber-reinforced plastic composite materials per ISO 14130.

3-Point Bend Fixture is ideal solution for this standard

*** Before conducting ISO 14130, it is important to read the entire specification. Standards can be obtained from appropriate standard authorities.
